Patrick Arundell has, for many years, followed the progress of Astrophysist Piers Corbyn, intrigued by Piers’s Solar Weather Technique. Now, of course, being English, Patrick is fascinated by the weather, after all it is, a national preoccupation!
Based in London, Piers Corbyn formed Weather Action in 1995. But what makes Piers so notable is the unique way in which he forecasts weather, with his technique based on using predictable aspects of solar activity - particle and magnetic effects from the Sun - as the basis for forecasting weather many months...and even years...in advance.
His Solar Weather Technique "combines statistical analysis of over a century of historical weather patterns with clues derived from solar observations." He considers past weather patterns and solar observations and sun-earth magnetic connectivity.
Weatheraction forecasts include: 14 day, 1 month and 1 year ahead forecasts and….
· Warning of weather extremes, e.g. when the wettest, windiest, and coldest periods will occur.
· Detailed worded weather descriptions with maps and graphics.
